WILMORE, Ky - Miami-Hamilton visited Wilmore Wednesday night for a season home opener at the Luce Center, besting the Eagles in a hard-fought contest 77-74. It was Asbury's second game in as many nights, having played at Midway the night before.
Asbury falls to 0-3 on the season, while Miami-Hamilton improves to 5-0.
The Eagles led most of the first half, until two Miami-Hamilton free throws tied the game going into half-time.
The Harriers would jump out to an early lead after the intermission, with both teams changing leads throughout. A 3-point field goal by Jamiel Goliday with 1:28 left in the second half tied the game up, 72-72. From there, Asbury would send Miami-Hamilton to the free throw line five times, ultimately sealing the game and a loss for the Eagles.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Jamiel Goliday found his groove, scoring 17 points (a season high) and shooting 4-6 from 3-point range
- Eric Powell and Nick Fort continue to lead the Eagles in scoring, with both pouring in 22 apiece against the Harriers

- Asbury shot 36.8% from the 3-point line, an improvement from their first two games
- The Eagles also improved their numbers from the free throw line, knocking down 15-17

Asbury men's basketball will have a week of practice to prepare for a road trip to Chicago, where they'll be competing in Moody Bible Institute's invitational. The Eagles will play Finlandia University on Friday, November 19th and Fontbonne University on Saturday, November 20th.
