WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University men's basketball team picked up its third straight victory on Saturday as the Eagles defeated Rio Grande 76-65 at the Luce Center.
The Eagles are now 7-2 on the season and posted a perfect 3-0 record for the week.
Asbury shot over 50 percent from the floor throughout the victory and were 13-17 from the foul line, which was crucial in icing the game and pulling away from URG in the closing minutes.
AU had another great shooting performance from behind the arc as the Eagles recorded 13 made three-point field goals. For the week, Asbury connected on 39 threes.
The Eagles led by only two at halftime at 40-38 but outscored the Red Storm 36-27 in the second half.

Siah Holifield led Asbury in scoring with a season-high 16 points with four threes and a perfect 4-4 shooting effort at the foul line.

Eric Powell finished with 15 points, five rebounds, and a team-high four assists.

Jamiel Goliday collected 12 points and
Leander Ridgeway scored in double figures for the ninth time this year as he added 11 points and seven rebounds.

John Shoulders had a strong performance off the bench with 11 points on 4-5 shooting.

TJ Robinson notched seven points and six rebounds. The Shelbyville, Ky. native tallied a team-high three offensive rebounds in the victory.
*As a team, Asbury finished with 12 assists and 30 rebounds.
