WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University women's lacrosse team fell 16-10 at home on Saturday afternoon against Bethel University in non-conference play.
AU falls to 3-2 on the year and will head into conference play for the remainder of their regular season.
Highlights
*Bethel scored in the first 15 seconds of the contest to take an early 1-0 lead.

Ashley Byrd tied the game up moments later with AU's first goal of the afternoon.
*The Pilots would take a 4-1 edge before
Jade Franchino and
Grace Tatro cut the lead down to one again at 4-3.
*BU ripped off three unanswered goals to take a 7-3 lead, but Tatro would score two goals, one off a free position shot and one off an assist from
Katherine Ivey to reduce the lead down to 7-5.
*The Pilots scored two goals in the final 30 seconds of the half to lead 9-5 at the break.
*Asbury got off to a slow start in the second half and found their backs against the wall trailing 15-6 with 18 minutes remaining.
*The Eagles tried to rally late as
Aubrey Curell,
Ashley Byrd, and
Abigail Peklo each scored but the lead remained at six with three minutes left and time expired before AU could cut the lead further than six.
Key Stats
*Grace Tatro led AU with a team-high four goals and recorded one assist for a total of five points on the day.
*Byrd finished with three scored goals while
Katherine Ivey notched two assists.
*Franchino and Curell each had four draw control wins, while Curell also recorded four ground balls and caused three turnovers.

Elle Crossman logged 12 saves in the loss.
*Bethel outshot Asbury 32-25 and posted 28 shots on-goal while AU placed 16 shots on-goal.
*The Eagles were only 3-9 on free position shots on the day and also committed 22 turnovers.
