Women's Lacrosse Slips to Truett McConnell

WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University women's lacrosse team lost 19-6 at home on Tuesday afternoon in Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) play.

With the loss, AU drops to 3-3 on the year and moves to 1-1 in AAC action.

Highlights
*Things got off to a shaky start early as TMU took a 9-0 lead in the first 18 minutes of play.
*Asbury first got on the board with a goal from Ashley Byrd with under 10 minutes left in the first half.
*Aubrey Curell and Jade Franchino both scored to give AU three goals at halftime.
*TMU led by as many as 13 goals twice at 17-4 and 19-6 in the second half.
*Abigail Peklo scored all three second half goals for AU's offense.

*Peklo led the Eagles with a season-high three goals in the loss.
*TMU out-shot Asbury 41-14 and AU also lost the draw control edge 16-7.
*Curell finished the contest with a goal scored, an assist, three caused turnovers, and four draw control wins.

Asbury will next face No. 10 Tennessee Wesleyan on Thursday at 4 PM. Thursday's contest will be played in Lexington on the campus of Transylvania University.
