WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University softball team won its third straight game on Saturday after a doubleheader sweep over Calumet St. Joseph.
The Eagles won the first game 12-4 in six innings, and then took game two with a shutout 8-0 victory in six innings.
AU improves to 4-4 on the year. Over the past three games, the Eagles have outscored their opponents 29-4.
Paige Hill had produced a team-high eight hits on the day with four in each victory.
The Eagles' bats finished with 28 hits in total on Saturday.
Game one
*Tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the third, the Eagles broke away with three runs scored in each the third and fourth innings.
*A sacrifice fly from
Bree Sanders gave AU a 2-1 edge, followed by a two RBI double from
Harley Wagoner which made it 4-1.
*In the fourth, Wagoner hit her second double of the day, giving her a team-high two doubles and three RBI in the first game.
*Asbury led 7-4 in the bottom of the sixth, but the Eagles added on five more runs to clinch the game with an 8-run lead.

Deana Phillips hit her fifth homer of the season to extend the lead out to 8-4.
McKenzie Meyer and
Kamry Wells hit back-to-back doubles to score three more runs before Hill hit home the game-winning run off an RBI single.
*The Eagles finished with a season-high 16 hits in the win.
*Hill got the victory in the circle, throwing 5.1 innings of work and striking out six batters. Hill also only gave up one earned run.
*Phillips tallied her fourth multi-hit game of the year with three hits, while
Kamry Wells also notched two hits and an RBI.
Game two
*It was an even more dominating effort in game two, as AU gave up only two hits.

Ally Moore got the win in game two with five full innings of scoreless work.
Katie Franklin came in and struck out three batters in the top of the sixth.
*The Eagles scored three runs in the bottom of the first to build an early cushion lead.

Paige Hill hit a two-run homerun in the fourth followed by Phillips' sixth homer of the year for a 6-0 edge.
*Phillips ranks in the top five of the NAIA in home runs and slugging percentage.
*AU sealed the deal in the sixth inning as they scored two runs off an RBI single from Phillips and a fielder's choice from
Chandler Kelly.
*Hill finished 4-4 with a home run, a double, and two RBI.
*Phillips and Burke notched their fifth multi-hit game of the season with three and two hits respectively. The duo combined for 4 RBI in the win.
