Herriford Scores Season-High 30 Points, Eagles Win Third Consecutive

WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University women's basketball team won its third straight game as the Eagles were victorious over Georgetown College 98-86 at the Luce Center on Tuesday evening.

Senior Autumn Herriford scored a season-high 30 points to pace the Eagles, who improve to 4-2 on the year.

Additionally, AU records its first win as a program against Georgetown, who falls to 1-1 on the year.
Key Stats
*Herriford finished with 30 points on 10-20 shooting from the field. The Lexington, Ky. native was 4-7 from three-point land and was a perfect 6-6 from the foul line. Herriford also brought in nine rebounds and dished out four assists.
*Zaria Napier had another efficient night offensively as she added 18 points, eight rebounds, and a team-high seven assists.
*Faith Osborne reached double figures scoring for the third straight game with 15 points on 3-6 shooting. Osborne knocked down three threes and was perfect from the foul line (6-6).
*As a team, the Eagles had another hot shooting night from behind the arc, hitting 14 three-point field goals. AU knocked down a program-record 22 in their last contest against Great Lakes Christian.
*Asbury shot 40 percent from the field and did a great job of sharing the ball with 19 total assists on the night.
*The Eagles finished with 27 points scored off turnovers forcing Georgetown into committing 25 turnovers throughout the game.

Highlights
*Asbury was off and running with a 14-4 lead in the first four minutes of action.
*Georgetown rallied back with a 14-3 run to take an 18-17 lead briefly, but the contest was even at 20-20 after the first frame.
*In the second, Asbury never trailed and ended the quarter on a 6-0 run to post a 45-37 lead at the break.
*A slow start in the third quarter allowed GC to close the gap and take the lead as the Tigers went on a 17-4 run to start the second half.
*However, AU fought back and led 63-61 heading into the final period.
*Asbury played a great fourth quarter on both ends of the floor, scoring 35 points in the period altogether to seal the deal.
*AU scored 18 points in the first five minutes of the quarter to take an 81-72 lead.
*The game was put away for good after a Herriford three from the top of the key gave the Eagles a 95-81 lead with just over two minutes remaining.
