WILMORE, Ky. – The Asbury University men's basketball team bounced back nicely on Thursday evening with an 83-64 victory over Kentucky Christian at the Luce Center.
Asbury improves to 2-2 on the season with the win.
It was good start offensively for the Eagles who pulled ahead 15-10 in the first 10 minutes of action.
AU continued to score at will from deep as they built a double-digit lead at 30-16 following back-to-back

Powell scored 10 points in the opening 20 minutes and the Eagles shot 6-14 from three-point range and led 40-28 at the break.
Asbury shot 42 percent from the field in the first half.
AU began the second period on a quick 11-3 run to build an 18-point lead at 51-33. The Eagles' defense forced 15 turnovers on the night and made things difficult all evening for the Knights.
The lead was never in danger as Kentucky Christian was only able to bring the lead down to 14 points at 60-46, before Asbury went on another 10-4 run to lead by 20 points at 70-50.
AU was efficient in multiple areas as they shot 9-20 from three-point range and were 25-36 from the foul line throughout the game.
Five Eagles scored in double figures in the win.
Leander Ridgeway scored a team-high 17 points and scored in double figures for the fourth straight time this year.
Eric Powell and
Desmond Duke each tallied 13 points.
Caleb Bonny and
Jamiel Goliday both scored 11 points to round out the double figures scoring column. Bonny was 5-6 from the free throw line and Goliday finished 3-6 from behind the arc.
Siah Holifield added seven points and dished out three assists, while
Drew Delatte brought in 12 rebounds.
The Eagles are back in action on November 14 at Johnson University in Knoxville, Tenn.
