Sammy Fluck joins Asbury University as the Head Athletic Trainer, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to student-athlete well-being. Throughout her distinguished career, Sammy has significantly improved athlete performance and recovery. Most recently, she served as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Schaumburg Boomers in the Frontier League through the Illinois Bone and Joint Institute.
With over six years of experience at the collegiate level, Sammy has worked as an Athletic Trainer for Lake Forest University and Evangel University, covering cross country, soccer, volleyball, cheer, basketball, swim & dive, track & field, baseball, softball and golf.
Sammy holds a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Missouri State University with a specialization in leadership and rehabilitation, and a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Dakota Wesleyan University. As a three-year starter on the Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team, she understands the challenges and rewards of collegiate athletics firsthand.
Sammy is an active member of the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) and holds several certifications, including the BOC Board of Certification, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilizations (IASTM), Rock Tape, and GOATA certifications. She has also received advanced training in Functional Movement Systems (FMS), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and Vestibular/Ocular Motor Screening (VOMS) Assessment.
Joining Asbury University from Bluegrass Orthopedics, Sammy enjoys spending her free time hiking, kayaking, and unwinding by the pool. Her passion is helping athletes achieve their full potential, both on and off the field. Sammy’s expertise, enthusiasm, and commitment to Christian values align beautifully with Asbury University's mission to nurture healthy minds, bodies, and spirits.
