Eagles Sweep CCS Cross Country Weekly Awards
ATLANTA, Ga. --- On Monday afternoon, the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) announced its weekly awards, with Emma Le Duc and Lucas Hollinden earning CCS Runner of the Week honors, while Beth Ragain and Teddy O'Neal were named CCS Rookies of the Week.
Le Duc, a Beaver Dam, Wisc., native, captured the individual title at the Spoon Fiercely Faithful Meet, winning the 6K in 24:21.96 among a field of 23 runners.
The victory marked the first collegiate win of her career in either cross country or track, while her time improved on her previous 6K personal best of 24:59 and now ranks fourth-fastest in Asbury program history. Her finish also helped lead the Eagles to the team title.
Hollinden, a Lexington, Ky., native, claimed the individual title at the Spoon Fiercely Faithful Meet, winning the 8K in 27:57.18 among a field of 35 runners.
The victory marked the first collegiate win of his career in either cross country or track and made him the fourth-fastest Asbury runner on the program's home course over the past 25 years. His finish also helped lead the Eagles to the team title.
Ragain, a Kailua, Hawaii, native, turned in a top-five finish at the Spoon Fiercely Faithful Meet, placing fourth overall among 23 runners with a 6K time of 25:09.37. Her finish contributed to Asbury's first-place team finish in the four-team field.
O'Neal, a Wilmore, Ky., native, earned a top-10 finish at the Spoon Fiercely Faithful Meet, placing ninth overall among 35 runners with an 8K time of 30:50.37. His finish contributed to Asbury's first-place team finish in the four-team field.
