COLUMBUS, Ohio. --- The Asbury women's soccer team (5-2-1, 1-0 CCS) slipped on the road on at Capital University (6-2, 0-0 OAC) 2-0.
Asbury battled the Comets through a scoreless first half despite being outshot 11-1. Goalkeeper Peyton Steiniger made three first-half saves to keep the match even heading into the break.
Capital broke through early in the second half in the 51st minute. The Eagles responded with several opportunities, including shots from Milei Baker, Anna Sparks, and Eva De Sousa, but were unable to find the equalizer.
The Comets added an insurance goal in the 77th minute stretching the margin to 2-0.
Steiniger finished with six saves in goal for Asbury, while Baker led the Eagles offensively with three shots and one shot on goal. Asbury generated six total shots and three shots on target, while Capital held a 22-6 advantage in total shots.
