WILMORE, Ky. --- The Asbury women's soccer team (5-1-1, 1-0 CCS) used a dominant second-half performance to pull away from Franklin College (2-5-1, 1-0-0 HCAC), scoring four goals in a seven-minute span to a 5-2 victory.
Asbury opened the scoring in the 30th minute when Macy Scott found the back of the net on an assist from Madison Andrews, giving the Eagles a 1-0 advantage. Franklin answered less than two minutes later leveling the match at 1-1.
The Eagles regained the lead in the 59th minute when Emily Carpenter finished a pass from Anna Sparks. Franklin responded again at 61:55, tying the contest 2-2.
Asbury immediately seized control. Just 48 seconds after Franklin's equalizer, Scott scored her second goal of the night off an assist from Bria Stiff to put the Eagles back in front 3-2.
Less than two minutes later, Milei Baker added her first goal of the season before Stiff capped the decisive surge with a goal of her own just 50 seconds later, extending the advantage to 5-2.
The Eagles outshooting Franklin 24-9 and placing 13 shots on goal.
The Eagles controlled possession throughout the evening, generating 24 shots compared to Franklin's nine while earning three corner kicks. Goalkeeper Peyton Steiniger recorded four saves to secure the victory.
