WILMORE, Ky. — Both the Asbury men's tennis (13–6, 6–0 CCS) and women's tennis teams (11–8, 6–1 CCS) concluded their 2026 seasons Friday afternoon with 4–0 losses in the first round of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA )Tournament, the men falling to Whitman (17-5, 14-0 NWC) and the women to North Carolina Wesleyan (17-4, 5-0 USAS).

Whitman secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, while the No. 2 pairing of Ben Moore and Andres Caceres was left unfinished at 5–4. The Blues then clinched the match with straight-set victories at No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 singles.

The Eagles competed strongly across several unfinished singles matches. Ignacio Ardiles held a 7–6 (7–5), 1–0 advantage at No. 3 singles, while Andres Caceres led 6–4, 2–0 at No. 5 singles when play was halted. Ben Moore also battled at the top spot against nationally ranked Alexander Stage before his match went unfinished in the second set.

Asbury closes the season with a 13–6 overall record and a perfect 6–0 mark in conference play after earning a trip to the NCAA Tournament for a second straight season.

North Carolina Wesleyan claimed the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles before the No. 1 match featuring Katherine Nova and Alexandra Garcia was halted unfinished at 5–3. The Battling Bishops then secured the match with straight-set wins at No. 4, No. 6, and No. 5 singles.

Asbury showed strong efforts throughout singles play, with Nova leading 6–4, 0–0 at No. 1 singles and Ariadna Zegarra ahead 6–4, 0–2 at No. 2 singles when play was stopped. Garcia also battled at No. 3 singles before her match went unfinished.

The Eagles conclude the season with an 11–8 overall record and a 6–1 mark in conference play after earning a berth in the NCAA Tournament for a second consecutive year.
