JACKSON, Miss. --- The Asbury softball team (15-21, 5-11 CCS) concluded the 2026 season falling in a doubleheader to No. 10 ranked Belhaven University (30-8, 13-1 CCS), 8-2, 9-0.
Game One | BELHAVEN 8, ASBURY 2
Asbury jumped out to an early lead, scoring once in each of the first two innings to take a 2-0 advantage.
In the opening frame, Abi Thompson reached and later scored on an RBI sacrifice fly from Abigail Moffat. The Eagles added another run in the second after Thompson singled and came around to score.
Belhaven responded with four runs in the third inning to move in front, then added three more in the fourth and another in the fifth.
Moffat led the Eagles offensively, going 2-for-3 with a triple, RBI, and run scored. Thompson added a hit and scored both Asbury runs, while Danielle Spiegel and Elyanna Rogers also recorded hits.
Sidney Hansen made the start in the circle, while Josie Potter worked in relief.
Game Two | BELHAVEN 9, ASBURY 0
Belhaven used a five-run second inning to take control of the second game before adding four more runs in the fourth.
AU collected three hits in the contest, with Spiegel, Daegan Flamm, and Rogers each recording singles. The Eagles also drew six walks, including two by Moira Tinsley.
Abi Thompson started game two in the circle, while Spiegel and Elizabeth McIntyre also saw pitching time.

The Eagles conclude their 2026 season at a 15-21 record.
