Britton Pours in Career-High as Asbury Claims Region Title

STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
WILMORE, Ky. ---  Junior biology pre-dental major Trinity Britton poured in a career-high 20 points on Wednesday night, helping guide the Eagles (15-13,11-5 CCS) to a National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) Mideast Region Title, defeating Alice Lloyd (12-12), 93-60.

Britton delivered a historic shooting performance, finishing 7-of-8 from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from three-point range to pace the Eagles offensively. Her hot hand helped Asbury seize early momentum and set the tone in the championship matchup.

Asbury jumped out to a 22-14 lead after the first quarter before extending the margin to 45-25 at halftime. The Eagles continued their offensive rhythm in the third, shooting 55 percent from beyond the arc in the period to stretch the advantage even further.

After building a 45-25 halftime lead, Asbury continued its momentum in the third quarter, outscoring Alice Lloyd 26-25 in a fast-paced frame that featured five made three-pointers. The Eagles maintained control in the fourth, closing out the 93-60 victory to secure the Mideast Region Championship.

As a team, the Eagles connected on 15 three-pointers and shot 40.5 percent from long range while finishing 30-of-71 (42.3%) from the field overall. Defensively, Asbury forced 26 turnovers and converted them into 24 points, creating a decisive edge. The Eagle bench proved pivotal once again, contributing 40 points in the complete team effort.

The Eagles also won the rebounding battle 36-30 and outscored Alice Lloyd 13-5 in second-chance points.

Britton wasn't alone in the balanced attack. Bre Jones added 15 points off the bench, knocking down three triples of her own, while Juleigh Anne Tucker chipped in nine points on 2-of-3 shooting from deep. Emily Sizemore filled the stat sheet with 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists, and Ma'Kiya West controlled the glass with a team-high 11 rebounds.
