Sizemore NCCAA Second-Team All American
GREENVILLE, SC. --- The National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) recently announced Asbury women's basketball junior elementary education major Emily Sizemore as a Second Team All-American.
Sizemore, an elementary education major from London, Ky., finished fourth in the NCCAA with 20.6 points per game while shooting 49% from the field. She also led the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) with 621 total points, surpassing 1,000 career points (1,012) in just two seasons at Asbury.
In addition to her All-American honor, Sizemore earned CCS First Team All-Conference recognition and was named to the D3hoops.com All-Region Third Team.
"Em had a great season in more ways than just scoring. She really came in to her own leading the team. She practices just as hard as she plays in the game and she's constantly working on her shot, and her game in general", said Asbury women's basketball head coach Chad Mayes. "What really makes Em special is that she is humble, while staying competitive. She knows that she has a gift, but always uses it to make others better and our team competing at a high level."
Sizemore recorded 17 games with 20 or more points during the season, including a career-high 35 points in a win over Piedmont. She also grabbed a season-best 15 rebounds against Southwestern Christian on March 19.
