INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- Sophomore business administration major
Ethan Bonow completed his time at the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) on Saturday, finishing 19th place nationally in the prelims of the 100 freestyle.
Bonow swam a 44.52 time in the prelims on Saturday morning to finish 19th nationally.
Earlier in the week, Bonow impressed with a fifth place finish in the 100 fly in the finals to become a NCAA First Team All-American in the event. On Wednesday morning he also competed in the 50 freestyle prelims, finishing 38th overall.
This marks the second straight year Bonow has represented Asbury swimming at the NCAA Division-III Championships.
This week was such a dream experience. It is truly a blessing to coach Ethan and to watch how he competes and represents Christ on the biggest stage in Division III swimming. I still am truly in shock of everything he accomplished this week. We talked during our time getting ready for Nationals about making an impact once we got to the meet and we were able to do that this year. Ethan is so special and has already made such a positive impact on our program…and I truly believe the best is yet to come.
