TeamAU Honors Colton Back for Past Six Years of Service
WILMORE, Ky. --- After six impactful years shaping the story of Asbury Athletics, Colton Back steps away from his role as Director of Athletic Communications and Events.
Back began his time in the athletics department as a graduate assistant, serving for two years before assuming the director role. In that position, he spent the next four years leading the athletic department's communications, events, livestream, and public engagement initiatives.
Back has been instrumental in building the Asbury Sports Digital Network (ASDN), which livestreams more than 100 on-campus events each year. Under his leadership, the network now features enhanced multicamera productions with full sponsor integration. The platform has emerged as one of the university's key communications channels and reached more than 30,000 unique users during the 2024-25 academic year.
Through his creativity, dedication, and willingness to serve, Back consistently captured and conveyed the spirit of TeamAU, turning every highlight, game, and moment into a compelling narrative that resonated with the entire Asbury community.
Back will now transition into serving as the Director of Strategic Communications for Asbury University, effective immediately.
"We are grateful for Colton's many contributions to the growth and success of TeamAU," said Mark Whitworth, vice president for athletics and university communications. "We look forward to continuing to work together as he steps into this new role."
