WILMORE, Ky.--- The Asbury women's soccer team (2-0-1, 0-0 CCS) continued its strong start to the 2025 season on Wednesday night, securing a 6-0 victory over Kentucky Christian University (0-1, 0-0 RSC) in Wilmore, Ky.
AU was led by junior psychology major
Emily Carpenter, scoring in the 5th minute off an assist from freshman
Madison Andrews, again in the 50th, and 65th minute off an assist from freshman
Hope Hollister. Sophomore
Cate VanMeter scored her first goal of the season in the 13th minute, while sophomore
Emma Edler scoring her first collegiate goal just before halftime. Junior captain
Maggie Perry struck early in the second half off an assist from senior
Hannah Muncie, giving the Eagles four different goal scorers on the night.
Asbury's defense limited the Knights to just two total shots, sophomore goalkeeper
Peyton Steiniger played all 90 minutes and finished with one save in the shutout. AU now has three shutouts on their record to start the 2025 season.Â
There was only one card in the match, a yellow given to freshman
Gabriella Albornoz in the 44th minute.Â
