MONTGOMERY, Ala --- Asbury men's soccer (6-2-1, 0-0-1 CCS) opened their 2025 conference schedule with a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon in Montgomery, Ala., against Huntingdon College (1-5-3, 0-0-1 CCS).
The Eagles outshot the Hawks 16-13 overall, including an 11-7 advantage in the second half. Huntingdon held a slight edge in shots on goal, six to four.
AU freshman business administration major Nathan Haglund led Asbury with five shots, including one on goal, while Eli Redpath, Grant Slater, and Micah Krebs each recorded one shot on goal.
Asbury's defense stood firm, highlighted by senior goalkeeper Crosby Short, who recorded six saves to secure the clean sheet, to earn his seventh clean sheet of the season.
Defenders Jon Gordon and Grant Slater played all 90 minutes on the back line, helping the Eagles limit Huntingdon's scoring opportunities.
Huntingdon's goalkeeper Trent Wineberg recorded four saves. AU had seven fouls with no yellow cards, while Huntingdon had seven fouls with one yellow card.
