- What does serving, training, and competing for the glory of God mean to you?
Serving, training, and competing for the glory of God means illustrating and portraying Christ in all you do.
Serving is humbly going lower—putting others before yourself, just as Christ did.
Training is being intentional with the gifts Jesus has given you—developing them with passion, patience, and purpose, not for personal gain, but to honor the One who gave them.
Competing means showing up with excitement and intensity, not just to perform well, but to portray Christ well.
- Who are some of the coaches, faculty and staff that have impacted you at AU?
I have been greatly impacted by Coach Crist.
He consistently shows us what it looks like to joyfully walk with Jesus. He greets us regularly with devotions that reflect his deep love for Christ and his desire for us to grow closer to Him. While he cares deeply about helping us improve our performance on the course, his greater priority is our spiritual growth.
Coach Crist brings intentionality into everything we do—whether we’re serving, training, or competing. He leads with wisdom, purpose, and gentleness, always keeping Jesus at the center. It’s evident in every word and action that he is running to Jesus every moment of his life. He’s not just our coach—he’s a living reflection of a life fully surrendered to Christ, and I’ve been deeply impacted by his example.
