MONTGOMERY, Ala. --- Asbury softball (22-13, 9-7 CCS) fell to Piedmont (24-17, 10-6 CCS) 6-0 in their program debut in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Conference Tournament.
Asbury was held hitless throughout the game,
Abigail Moffat,
Kaitlyn Wilson,
Samantha Bottom, and
Daegan Flamm each drew a walk.
Kaylee Strunk started on the mound and
Sidney Hansen came in relief throwing five innings, allowing three hits and zero earned runs.

Piedmont struck first with five runs in the first inning, off of three RBI basehits to grab an early 5-0 lead.
The Lions scored the last run of the game in the third inning off a fielder's choice RBI, 6-0.
Sophomore psychology and sports communication major
Sidney Hansen was the bright spot for Asbury, shining on the mound in relief. Hansen kept the Lions at six runs after entering the game in the second inning, allowing zero earned runs.
Hansen retired the last seven batters she faced and was dominant in her 14th appearance in her sophomore season.

The Eagles head to the losers bracket of the CCS Tournament with first pitch set for 8 PM EST (7 PM CST), opponent TBA.
