
DALTON, Ga.--- Asbury men's golf sophomore accounting major Grayson Head finished the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Championship 13-over par after three rounds in Dalton, Ga., at the Dalton Country Club on Wednesday afternoon, tying for 12th overall of 35 competitors.

The Eagles finished in sixth place out of seven CCS programs, shooting their best round of the week on the final day at +30 to finish at +99 overall. Piedmont University took first place through a play-off hole against Huntingdon College, after tying at 27-over on the week after the final day.
Head, a Hendersonville, Tenn., native, had his best round on day two with an even-par (72) performance, making four birdies and 10 pars. He shot nine-over (81) on day one and four-over (76) on day three to finish in the top-12 of the tournament.
Asbury senior business administration major Garrett Sturges, finished 21st overall with 81 (+9), 81 (+9) and 77 (+5) rounds to finish 23-over on the week. He had seven birdies and 24 pars in his final 54 holes as an Asbury Eagle. Sturges put together a decorated career during his time at AU.
Behind Head and Sturges for AU was sophomore Gideon Coleman and freshman Jackson Raby at 32nd and 33rd place. Coleman finished 32-over (82, 85, 81) and Raby at 34-over (85, 81, 84).

"This past season we faced a lot of adversity but the guys responded in such a resilient way. We showed toughness and proved why belong in a conference like the CCS. On day two I just went into attack mode, tried to stay in the moment and was able to play some good golf. I couldn't be more excited for this next fall season."
