DANVILLE, Ky --- The Asbury softball team (20-12, 7-7 CCS) grabbed their 20th win on Wednesday night, sweeping Centre College (4-26, 2-10 SAA) in a midweek doubleheader 3-2 and 12-2, notching their first 20-win season since the 2021 year.
Abigail Moffat and
Moira Tinsley led the offensive charge for AU, each collecting four hits on the day and Tinsley adding three-RBI's making her total 35 on the year (3rd most in a season in program history).
Kaylee Strunk gathered her team-leading seventh win of the year while
Sidney Hansen earned her first save of the season, partnering the victory for Asbury.
Amanda Harmon notched her first collegiate win in the circle for game two, throwing two innings and allowing zero earned runs.
Game One | ASBURY 3, CENTRE 2
Moira Tinsley got things started offensively for AU in the first inning, smashing her team-leading sixth homerun of the season to score
Natalie Ison and take a 2-0 advantage early.
Centre answered back in the fourth inning with a two-RBI single, evening things at two.

Samantha Bottom in the top of the fifth inning, proving to be the game-deciding run and give the Eagles a 3-2 nod.
After
Kaylee Strunk threw five innings allowing just two earned runs,
Sidney Hansen came on to pitch the last two innings. Hansen was flawless in her first save of the season, retiring all six batters faced to secure a 3-2 win.
Asbury finished with three runs on six hits and zero errors, while Centre had two runs, seven hits, and one defensive error.
Game Two | ASBURY 12, CENTRE 2
Asbury struck early in game two with six runs in each of the first two innings to total their scoring for the game.
In inning one
Moira Tinsley,
Emma Popplewell,
Danielle Oldfield, and
Tori Giurgevich all collected RBI base hits to give the Eagles a comfortable 6-0 advantage.
Asbury again posted another six spot in the second with RBI's from
Emma Popplewell, Dagean Flamm,
Tori Giurgevich,
Abigail Moffat, and
Kaitlyn Wilson pulling the Eagles ahead 12-0.
The Colonels responded with two runs in the second, to complete both teams scoring for the game, giving Asbury a 12-2 win in five innings.
Josie Deatherage,
Amanda Harmon, and
Tori Giurgevich all combined through the five innings on the mound, Harmon collecting her first win in her collegiate career.
Asbury scored 12 runs on 14 hits and zero errors, while the Colonels scored two runs on five hits and four errors.

The Eagles next match-up with will come against Kentucky State in Frankfort on Friday April 24, starting at 4 PM.
