WILMORE, Ky.--- Starting pitchers
Sidney Hansen and
Kaylee Strunk each went complete games on Saturday allowing just three runs combined, helping aid Asbury softball (5-3, 0-0 CCS) to a doubleheader sweep over Anderson University (0-2, 0-0 HCAC) 6-2 and 5-1.
Senior biology major
Kaylee Strunk took the mound for AU in game one, allowing just five hits, and two earned runs in a complete game win. The Science Hill, Ky., native struck out five in route to her second win of the season.
Sophomore psychology and sport communications major
Sidney Hansen started on the mound for Asbury in game two surrendering just five hits and one earned run, while striking out two for her second win of the young season.
Game One | ANDERSON 2, ASBURY 6
Natalie Ison got things started in the top of the first early for AU, scoring
Danielle Oldfield on an RBI double to center field, granting the Eagles an early 1-0 lead over the Ravens.
An
Abigail Moffat sacrifice fly in the bottom of the second scored
Samantha Bottom doubling AU's lead to 2-0. A
Natalie Ison solo shot in the third and
Abigail Moffat solo homerun in the third and fifth extended the Eagles lead to 4-0.
Daegan Flamm and
Emma Popplewell RBI base hits brought around the Eagles' fifth and sixth runs in the bottom of the fifth to solidify a 6-0 lead into the sixth frame.
The Ravens struck back with their first and only two runs of the game off an two RBI double from Grimes, making things 6-2 headed to the seventh.
Kaylee Strunk completed her day getting the Ravens to go down in order, finishing with a complete game win for her second of the season.

Natalie Ison got things rolling in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly RBI to score

Samantha Bottom, and
Emily Zink to extend the Eagles lead out to 4-0 in the second inning.
Moira Tinsley helped add on to the Asbury second inning, reaching on an base hit to the shortstop scoring
Abigail Moffat to end things at 5-0 after two.
The Ravens got their lone run of the game off a Wheeler single to right field in the top of sixth inning.
Sideny Hansen finished her complete game in the bottom of the seventh, getting three quick out to improve AU to 5-3 on the year and grabbing her second win on the mound this season.
"The team showed a lot of fight and growth this week. After two tough losses against Spalding yesterday, the team came ready to compete today. We're a young team, but they play with a lot of maturity and grit. I'm very excited about the future of this program."
