RICHMOND, Ind.--- The Asbury baseball team (1-4) rallied after being down to their last out to score three runs in the final two innings to beat Earlham College (4-4) in Richmond, Ind., on Tuesday night in 10 innings, 6-5.
AU junior business administration major
Quinn Nobles doubled to left-center on the first pitch he saw in the top of the ninth with the Eagles down one, runners on first and second with two outs, driving both Eagles in to take a 5-4 lead.
Aaron Beaman, a sophomore sport management major scored the winning run in the top of the tenth for Asbury off
Bryce Hayden's third RBI of the night. Hayden also had a ground-rule double that bounced over the right field wall in the first inning to drive in
Cam Weaver.
Beaman and Hayden led AU with two hits apiece, while junior
Josh McNulty had two key RBIs for the Eagles. On the mound it was sophomore
Parker Bowles getting the start for Asbury, going 4.2 innings with two hits and three earned runs.
Jacob Camfield,
Trey Todd, and
Andrew Gilliam each gave crucial work out of the Asbury bullpen. Gilliam went 1.2 innings to earn his first collegiate win, striking out two with no walks.
AU had nine hits on their six runs, out-hitting Earlham with eight hits. Earlham committed two errors in the game while the Eagles held errors to only one mistake.
Asbury held a 3-0 lead for the first four innings a three-run first led by Hayden and McNulty RBIs. Earlham scored four in the fifth during Bowles' last inning of work on three hits and one error.
The Quakers held the lead until the ninth with Nobles struck with the two-RBI double. Gilliam struck out the first two he saw in the bottom of the 10th and then worked a fly out to close the game.
The Eagles now hold the all-time series 1-0 over Earlham after a win in their first ever meeting.

The Eagles will travel to Oberlin, Oh., on Saturday to play at Oberlin College for a doubleheader starting at 12 PM.
