Releford Earns NCCAA First Team All-American Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C.--- The National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) recently announced the 2024-2025 All-American teams for women's basketball, with Asbury senior multimedia journalism major Haleigh Releford earning first-team honors.
Releford, the Stanford, Ky., native averaged 12.5 PPG in her senior season. She became the 14th Asbury women's basketball player to score 1,000 points for a career this season sketching her name into the history books with 1,322 points for her career (5th all-time). She also became the single-season steals record holder with 99 steals on the year and all-time with 276, passing Trinity Shearer's 274 during the year. Releford averaged 5.5 RPG and knocked down 49 points in her final season at AU.
Releford averaged 11.6 PPG over her four-year Asbury career, totaling 2,629 minutes of action starting 86 games and playing in 114. She leaves Asbury one of the most decorated players in program history helping guide Asbury to two NCCAA Mideast Region Titles, Four NCCAA National Tournament appearances, and a CCS Regular Season Championship.
Personally over her career she leaves AU a now NCCAA First Team All-American, a three-time NCCAA Mideast All-Region player, a 2025 CCS First Team All-Conference member, the 2025 CCS Defensive Player of the Year, CCS All-Tournament Team, and the 2024 Cecil Zweifel award winner at the Eagle Awards.
