Ison Powers Offense to Conference Sweep Over Agnes Scott; Deatherage and Strunk Earn Fourth Wins

STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
DECATUR, Ga --- Junior equine science major powered the Asbury (12-8, 3-5 CCS) offense with four doubles, four RBI's, and a homerun in route to their Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) doubleheader sweep over Agnes Scott (4-16, 0-6 CCS), 8-2 and 4-2.

Ison hit her fourth homerun on the year and tied for team-leading seventh double today. The Richmond, Ky., native is hitting .365 on the season and slugging at a .730 mark. She currently stands at 16th in the CCS in batting average and tied for sixth in homeruns.

Josie Deatherage and Kaylee Strunk both earned their fourth wins of the season in complete game victories. Deatherage pitched seven innings allowing just one earned and striking out one. Strunk also went seven innings surrendering just one earned and striking out one.

Game One | ASBURY 8, AGNES SCOTT 2
Moira Tinsley and Natalie Ison each had RBI's to give the Eagles advantage 4-1 in the fourth inning. 

Emily Zink singled in the fourth and homered in the sixth to extend the AU lead to 6-1.

Ison and Zink continued to build on big days at the plate in the seventh, Ison a homerun and Zink a double to push the lead out to 8-2 in the seventh.

After a Agnes Scott leadoff single in the seventh, Kaylee Strunk retired the next three Scotties hitters to claim the 8-2 victory, the second CCS win of the season for AU.

Game Two | ASBURY 4, AGNES SCOTT 2
Agnes Scott held a 2-0 advantage through the first five innings of play off a two RBI single in the third inning.

Absury got their offense rolling in the sixth inning off of a Daegan Flamm sac bunt scoring Azlynn Day and a Kaitlyn Wilson stolen base that led to a ASC error to score Flamm to knot things at two apiece into the last frame.

Freshman Moira Tinsley broke the tie in the top of the seventh with a two-run homerun scoring Natalie Ison, powering the Eagles to a 4-2 come from behind win over the Scotties. 

Josie Deatherage retired three of four batters in the bottom half to toss her fourth complete game win of the year, guiding AU to their third CCS win.
