Eagles Slip in Games One and Two of CCS Series at Huntingdon

STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
MONTGOMERY, Al.--- The Asbury baseball team (4-12, 0-5 CCS) slipped in games one and two of their opening CCS road series in Montgomery, Al., at Huntingdon College (15-6, 4-1 CCS), 5-0 and 11-8. 

AU sophomore sport management major Aaron Beaman had three hits in game two, marking his sixth multi-hit game of the season. The Eagles had 12 hits on the day but six errors, while Huntingdon had 20 hits and only three errrors. 

Game One | HUNTINGDON 5, ASBURY 0
The first game of the day saw only two runs through the first six innings, with the Hawks scratching a run in the first and fifth to go ahead 5-0. AU sophomore mathematics and engineering major Ryan Yates went 4.2 innings in his fourth start of the year, giving up only four hits, two earned runs, two walks, and a strikeout. 

Huntingdon's J. McFarling threw a complete game shutout, going 9.0 innings with five hits, no runs, one walk, and seven strikeouts. The shutout was Asbury's second this season after no runs against Ohio Northern. 

Huntingdon used three hits to score three runs in the seventh to earn a 5-0 lead over AU. The Eagles had five hits in the game but no innings with more than one hit. Graduate student Kaden Dugle had two hits in the game for Asbury. 

Game Two | HUNTINGDON 11, ASBURY 8    
Asbury responded in game two with a three-run first inning, using a base-hit by Beaman and a Huntingdon error. The Hawks answered in the bottom half with four hits and four runs to take a 4-3 advantage. 

Huntingdon scored seven more runs throughout the game on 12 total hits to out-score AU, 11-8. Asbury scored four in the top of the fifth on three hits, led by a Cam Weaver two-RBI single. 

Beaman went 3-4 in the game with two runs scored and a walk. Weaver and Andrew Billington each had two RBIs, while Bryce Hayden scored two runs.
