Asbury Seven Runs Behind Burns Four Hits Not Enough; Fall in Extra's to Huntingdon, 8-7

STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
MONTGOMERY, Al.--- Asbury baseball (4-13, 0-6 CCS) freshman media communications major Hank Burns had a career-high four hits and junior Cayden Devine went 4.0 innings with no runs allowed, but Huntingdon College (16-6, 5-1 CCS) scored seven runs in the final four innings to take the 8-7 win in Montgomery, Al., in 11 innings. 

AU scored the first seven runs in game three of the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) series, leading 7-0 after four hits in the sixth led to four runs. The Hawks offense got going late with seven runs across the seventh, eighth, and ninth innings to tie the game at 7-7. 

Asbury led 7-4 going into the bottom of the ninth, but Huntingdon used two hits and an AU error to score three runs to force extra innings. The Eagles had two hits in the top of the 11th but couldn't score, while the Hawks used two free passes and a walk-off single in the 11th to score the winning run. 

Both offenses combined for 28 hits, Huntingdon leading the way 15-13 over AU. Each team committed two errors on the game, with Asbury striking out eight times and Huntingdon going down nine times via strikeout. 

Burns' four hits were a game-high, the Louisville, Ky., native scoring a run as well. Juniors Trevor McNaughton and Andrew Billington each had two hits for Asbury, McNaughton with a season-high three RBIs. 

Devine had his best start of the year, giving up no runs in four innings. Sophomore Brady Robeson went 2.0 innings out of the bullpen for Asbury with four strikeouts and one earned run.
