HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.--- The Asbury women's tennis team (5-3, 1-0 CCS) and men's tennis team (3-2, 1-0 CCS) both fell on Tuesday morning in Hilton Head Island, S.C., to NCAA Division III non-conference opponent DePauw University, 5-2 in the women's match and 7-0 on in the men's contest.

Ariadna Zegarra took the Eagles' only doubles win of the day over Depauw. The Tigers took two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.
In singles, AU handled the No. 1 and No. 2 matches behind Nova (6-1, 6-0) and Zegarra (6-3, 7-6. 10-6). Depauw earned the other four singles matches, including tie-breaker wins in the No. 3 and No. 5 contests over
Martina Paillet and
Malory Watkins from Asbury.

AU men's tennis slipped in the three doubles matches to Depauw, despite
Alejandro Caceres and
Gregorio Bustingorri putting pressure on the Tigers in the No. 3 doubles contest.
Depauw earned four closely-contested matchups in singles competition to sweep the match. AU junior
Alejo Britos went to a tie-break with Depauw in the No. 6 match and
Alejandro Caceres slipped 7-5, 7-5 in the No. 1 matchup.

The Asbury women's tennis team is back on the court on Wednesday at 12:30 pm against College of Saint Mary while the men return to play on Thursday against Millikin at 8:30 am. Both matches will be played in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
