HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C.--- Asbury women's tennis (5-2, 1-0 CCS) took their fifth win of the season to open spring break's week of matches in Hilton Head Island, S.C., defeating Coe College (9-4, 7-1 ARC) on Monday morning, 5-2.
Junior media communication major
Kourtney Kawata had a strong No. 5 singles victory (6-3, 6-0), and also partnered with junior elementary education major
Megan Moore to take a 6-4 win against Coe in the No. 3 doubles match.
Asbury's No. 1 doubles team,
Katherine Nova and
Ariadna Zegarra, took a 6-2 win against Coe, helping AU take the doubles point. The Eagles won four of the six individual matches to secure the win, including Nova and Zegarra taking the top two individual contests.
Nova, a two-time CCS Rookie of the Week, remains undefeated at the No. 1 singles spot for Asbury. AU sophomore english major
Malory Watkins earned a clutch No. 6 individuals win over Coe to aid the Eagles' win, taking the match in a tie-breaker third set.
Asbury will play a total of four matches in Hilton Head, one each day through Thursday.

The Eagles will meet NCAA DIII opponent DePauw University on Tuesday morning at 10 am.
