WILMORE, Ky.--- The Asbury men's basketball team (9-17, 5-8 CCS) made seven first-half threes and shot 47% from the floor for the game to move past Covenant College (9-16, 4-8 CCS) in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Tournament Quarterfinals on Wednesday afternoon in Wilmore, Ky., 97-83.
The CCS Tournament matchup was paused at 7:31 to go in the first half with AU holding a 40-17 lead after a Wilmore city-wide power outage struck the Luce Center. Play resumed on Wednesday at 11:30 am.

Graduate student
Clayton Winter, sophomore finance major
Luke Imfeld, and sophomore communications major
Tyler Hall each scored 19 points for 57 combined between the three players. Winter went 9-14 from the field and collected 12 rebounds to reach 1,000 career rebounds to go along with his 1,000 points.
Imfeld grabbed nine rebounds and dished four assists with some key late-game scoring. Hall went 11-11 from the free-throw line along with three assists.
AU sophomore
Cayden Lancaster went 5-6 from the field with 12 points and nine rebounds, including a break-away dunk in the closing minutes of the game.
The Eagles scored 50 first half points while holding Covenant to 30 in the half. The Scots responded by outscoring Asbury 53-47 in the second period, shooting 48% in the second compared to 24% in the first half.
AU led in fast break points 12-2, second chance points 22-18, and points in the paint, 38-34. Covenant's pressure defense led AU into 14 turnovers, but the Scots gave away nine as well.
Asbury outrebounded the Scots 45-39, and used 22 assists to score their second most points in a game this season (97). The Eagles scored their most points in a game on the road at Covenant with 99 a few weeks away, and scored 92 last week at home against Covenant.
The No. 4 seeded Eagles earn a trip to the CCS Semifinals on Friday night in Maryville, Tn., against the No. 1 seed host Maryville College.
"We know Covenant is always capable of big runs with the way they play. I was proud of our guys. Luke stepped up for us and led today. We have been trying to stay committed all season. We've tried to persevere, believe in the calling God has given us to keep showing up and give our best."
