DANVILLE, Ky.--- On Saturday the men's and women's swimming teams wrapped up their final races before the Liberal Arts Conference Championships in two weeks. Both squads fell to Centre College, but had multiple top finishes including freshman Ethan Bonow becoming the new Asbury record holder in the men's 100 freestyle.
On the women's side, results were highlighted by Joy Killingsworth's win in the 200 Breaststroke. AU wrapped the meet with a really close race in the 200 Freestyle Relay, ultimately touching in second by .1 seconds. The Eagles also had several really good races and top three finishes today.
On the men's side results were highlighted by two event sweeps. Ethan Bonow and Braden Vincent went one-two in the men's 50 Freestyle. Bonow followed that with a win in the 100 Freestyle, setting a new school record in the process. Owen Seymour also touched just behind Ethan for a one-two finish in the event. Other top performances were Owen Seymour's win in the 100 Backstroke. The men's side won both relays that were contested.

Both teams are back in action next Wed-Sat. (Feb 12-15) at the Liberal Arts Championships in Racine, WI to end the 2024-2025 season.

"I was really proud of our team today. Our attitude and presence on deck at dual meets this season has been incredible and today was no different. I knew it would be an uphill battle to beat Centre in the final point total, but I was really pleased with how we raced and how we carried ourselves in competition. Our relays fought hard, we had some really great individual performances (including Ethan Bonow breaking his own school record in the 100 freestyle), and I'm really pleased with how we finished the season today. Now it's time to refocus and get ready for the Liberal Arts Conference Championships in a couple weeks!"
Graham Duncan | Asbury Swimming Head Coach
"It was a great meet to finish off some final race strategies on our swims before conference and spend time with the team! This has been such a fun season and I am excited to see how we all perform at conference!"
Morgan Stephenson | Freshman | Sport Management | Union, KY
