LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The Asbury men's basketball team (0-9, 0-0 CCS) dropped a non-conference matchup in Louisville, Ky., on Wednesday night against Spalding University (4-4, 1-2 SLIAC), 85-65.
Spalding started the game on a 9-2 run, but Asbury responded with a 10-4 stretch to come within one point, 13-12. The Golden Eagles shot 48% from the field to score 43 points in the first half to lead by 12, 43-31.
Asbury made four threes in the second half to put up 34 points, but Spalding scored 42 points in the second half, securing the 85-65 win.

Isaiah Stephan made three three-pointers with 11 points and grabbed two rebounds.
Jordan Lewis had eight points with four rebounds and a steal for Asbury in the game. Lewis has 19 steals on the season, for third in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS).
Spalding had 16 turnovers in the game while AU committed 10 giveaways. Asbury scored 17 points off turnovers, but Spalding was efficient with 14 points off the AU giveaways.
The Golden Eagles used 18 second-chance points and 36 points in the paint, winning the rebounding battle 54-23. AU went 10-31 from three, while Spalding made eight threes of their own.
Asbury went 9-13 from the free-throw line, compared to Spalding's 17-21 night at the stripe.
