WILMORE, Ky. --- Asbury men's soccer (7-6-4, 0-3-3 CCS) defeated Ohio Christian University (6-9-3) on Monday night in Wilmore, Ky., 1-1 (5-3 PK's) advancing to the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Mideast Region Finals.
The match started aggressively with the Eagles taking an early lead. Freshman sport management major
Clay Nagel scored his first career goal, with an assist from freshman
Tyson Absher. Asbury maintained this 1-0 lead up to halftime, setting a strong pace against Ohio Christian.
In the second period, the Trailblazers managed to level the score when Mason Sims found the net, assisted by William Boorman. This goal reignited the match, leading to a tense standoff that extended into overtime. With the scores tied, the match proceeded to a decisive shootout to determine the advancing team.
