WILMORE, Ky.--- The Asbury women' soccer team (9-5-3, 4-2-1 CCS) was led by senior biology major
Hannah Muncie, who recorded a hat trick to secure a 4-0 win over Midway (4-8-1, 2-5) on Wednesday night in Wilmore, Ky.
AU's offense was led by Muncie, scoring her first goal in the 15th minute, putting the Eagles up 1-0 a lead they carried into halftime.
In the second half, Asbury maintained the momentum scoring three goals in a 30-minute span. Muncie found the back of the net two more times, striking in the 59th and 63rd minutes with assists from junior Anna Sparks and sophomore Emily Carpenter to complete the hat trick.
Muncie now has 11 goals on the season and leads the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) in goals.
The Eagles extended their lead in the closing minutes, with Mary Hostetter adding AU's fourth goal of the night in the 87th minute off an assist from Abigail Turner, marking her first goal of the season.
Asbury's goalkeeper Peyton Steiniger recorded one save in 90 minutes giving her sixth clean sheet of the year. The Eagles outshot Midway 24-3, including a 16-1 advantage in shots on goal.
