Asbury Sweeps Covenant on Senior Night for 10th CCS Win

STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
WILMORE, Ky. --- The Asbury volleyball team (15-7, 10-1 CCS) earned its sixth straight win and 10th Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) victory on Wednesday's senior night contest against Covenant College (14-11, 9-3 CCS), 3-0. 

The Official Wealth Management Sponsor of Asbury Athletics presented the match, The Kessinger Lee Group. Asbury volleyball celebrated its five graduating student-athletes from the 2025 senior class, including Lucy Kate Gray, Lauran Barber, Megan Mateyoke, Riley McChord, and Sidney Haysley

A total of 41 wins and counting have come from the 2025 Asbury volleyball class, including a CCS Regular Season Championship. 

The Eagles had one of their strongest performances of the season, winning all three sets against the reigning CCS Tournament Champions to secure a sweep (25-16, 25-13, 25-12). Asbury 38 total kills with only seven hitting errors, reaching their third highest hitting percentage of the season at .408 percent.

Sophomore equine science major Isabelle VandeSchraaf led AU with 11 kills, followed by Sidney Haysley at nine and Megan Mateyoke with five kills. Asbury freshman Julia Wright had a game-high 14 assists and collected a service ace. 

Covenant came in off winning its last eight matches and tied with Asbury at nine CCS wins. The Eagles won key stat categories in kills (38-18), assists (34-17), digs (33-18), and blocks (8-3). 

Asbury is now alone in first place in the CCS as the only team with 10 wins.
