DEMOREST, Ga. --- The Asbury volleyball team (14-7, 9-1 CCS) won its 13th and 14th matches of the season on Saturday afternoon in Demorest, Ga., winning all six sets they played in the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) Tri-Match against Piedmont (4-19, 2-8 CCS), 3-0, and Huntingdon (15-12, 6-4 CCS), 3-0.
AU is now 24-2 in CCS regular season play since they joined the conference in the 2024 season and won last year's CCS Regular Season Title. The Eagles have won their previous five matches and have won 15 of their last 16 sets.
Sophomore equine science major
Isabelle VandeSchraaf led on offense with 28 kills in the two matches, including her eighth double-double of the season with 15 kills and 10 digs against Huntingdon.
Sara Beth Gray had a career-high 32 assists against Piedmont in game one, and followed with a team-high 22 in the second match for 54 assists on the day.
Defensively, it was senior captain
Riley McChord with 38 digs combined, collecting 25 digs and six assists in the Huntingdon matchup.
Sidney Haysley had a strong day for Asbury with 14 kills and 17 digs, including a double-double in game two with 11 kills and 14 digs.
Match One | ASBURY 3, PIEDMONT 0
Asbury's offense came out on fire against Piedmont, winning the first three sets (25-5, 25-5, 25-13). AU hit for their highest hitting percentage of the season at .588 percent.
Asbury had 54 kills and 50 assists with only four errors in the match. The Eagles also added seven aces, led by Abigail Bruner with three on her own.
Match Two | ASBURY 3, HUNTINGDON 0
AU won two tight sets against Huntingdon once again after beating the Hawks in Wilmore a week ago, taking all three sets (25-22, 28-26, 25-18).
Asbury had 52 kills with 21 errors for a .220 hitting percentage. The Eagles' defense used 75 digs to hold the Huntingdon offense at bay, compared to the Hawks' 60 digs.
