Asbury Sweeps Huntingdon and Piedmont; Mateyoke 20 Kills

STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
WILMORE, Ky. --- Asbury volleyball (11-7, 7-1 CCS) moved to 7-1 in conference play after sweeping both its Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) weekend matches in Wilmore, Ky., beating Huntingdon (13-11, 5-3 CCS), 3-0, and then Piedmont (4-16, 2-6 CCS), 3-0. 

Asbury senior marketing major Megan Mateyoke had 20 kills across the two matches. Sophomore Sophie Glushchak and senior Sidney Haysley both had double-digit kills on the day. Glushchak had 17 and Haysley had 13 kills. 

AU combined for 86 kills, 82 assists, and 139 digs in two matches.

Match One | ASBURY 3, HUNTINGDON 0
The Eagles took the first three sets of the match against Hungtindon, 25-15, 27-25, and 25-22. Lucy Kate Gray had 20 assists and sophomore Sophie Glushchak had 9 kills in the match.

The AU Defense had 67 digs and seven total blocks defensively. 

Match Two | ASBURY 3, PIEDMONT 0
Asbury won all of the first three sets over Piedmont, 25-14, 25-12, and 25-18. Senior Megan Mateyoke had 12 kills and sophomore Sara Beth Gray had 22 assists and 10 digs for her first double-double of the season.

The Eagles had 47 kills and eight service aces in the match.
