FRANKLIN, Ind.--- Asbury women's soccer (6-3-2, 2-0 CCS) freshman business administration major
Ryan King scored her first two goals of her collegiate career on Wednesday night in Franklin Ind., for a 4-2 road victory over Franklin College (1-7-1, 0-1 HCAC).
The Eagles struck early with King scoring her first goal of the night in the 13th minute, set up by junior biology major
Anna Sparks, who delivered the first of her three assists on the night. In the 30th minute, senior captain
Hannah Muncie doubled the lead with her first of two goals.
After halftime, King scored her second goal of the match in the 50th minute, again off an assist from Sparks, giving AU a 3-0 lead. Franklin responded with two goals to close the gap.
Muncie sealed the win in the 87th minute, scoring her second of the match off a feed from junior
Emily Carpenter. The goals marked Muncie's eighth goal of the season, which leads the CCS, and the 24th of her career.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Peyton Steiniger recorded five saves in the win as Franklin out shot Asbury 12-8, and held a 7-6 advantage in shots on goal. Franklin's goalkeepers Emma Watson and Grace Williams both had one save each.
