LAGRANGE, Ga.--- Asbury men's basketball (4-12, 0-4 CCS) fell in its final contest of an eight-game road stand on Saturday night in LaGrange, Ga., to CCS opponent LaGrange College (5-13, 1-5 CCS), 105-68.
The Eagles scored 41 second half points compared to LaGrange's 43 in the second, but the Panthers earned their lead with a 62-28 first half over the Eagles. LaGrange shot 55% from the field in the first half, going 12-22 from the three-point line.
AU outrebounded LaGrange 52-49 on the night, powered by graduate student
Clayton Winter's season-high 22 rebounds. Clayton added eight points on the night, and now has 891 career rebounds at Asbury.
Senior sport management major
Ben McNew led AU with 14 points on the night, added three rebounds and an assist. The Eagles had 10 different players score in the game, eight of those with five or more points.
LaGrange finished the night with 16 threes while Asbury made nine from distance. AU went 18-21 from the free-throw line and LaGrange was 11-16 from the stripe.
The Panthers used 19 points off 10 AU turnovers and scored 42 points in the paint. Asbury had 10 points off the LaGrange six turnovers and scored 24 paint points.
AU led in second chance points 19-15 after taking the offensive rebounding battle 23-10 over LaGrange.
The Panthers shot 47% from three and 51% from the field on the night, holding AU to under 30% shooting from the field and three-point line.

The Eagles are set to return home for a matchup with Belhaven in Wilmore, Ky., on Friday night at 6 pm, backed up by hosting Piedmont on Saturday at 4 pm.
