WILMORE, Ky.---- In a tough regular season encounter for the Asbury Eagles, the women's soccer team (3-3-2) faced a challenging match against the Centre College Colonels (7-1-1) on Wednesday night, at the Asbury Outdoor Venue. Despite a strong effort, the Eagles fell to the Colonels with a final score of 3-0.

The match began with a quick pace as Centre's Riley Givens, assisted by Lindsay Carr, found the back of the net at the 04:09 mark of the 1st period. This early goal set the tone, and Grace Plummer extended Centre's lead to 2-0 by the end of the half after scoring at 09:11 with an assist from Alexis Kronenthal.

Throughout the first half, Centre's formidable approach kept the Eagles at bay, and the Colonels continued their dominance into the second period. At 57:38, Claire Cavacini scored, marking the definitive 3-0 lead. Remarkably, Centre closed this matchup with a clean sheet, showcasing their defensive prowess while preventing any goals on their side.

Asbury's goalkeeping duties were shared between Maliya Crump and Violette Moore, contrasting the solid performance by Centre's Grace Dutcher and Anna Thomas.
