Eagles Suffer Road Loss at Hanover, 3-1

STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
HANOVER, In.--- In a closely contested soccer match held  at the Hanover Soccer Complex, the Asbury women's soccer squad (3-2-1) faced a challenging defeat against the Hanover Panthers (4-1-0) with a score of 3-1. Despite entering halftime with a deadlock at 0-0, the Eagles couldn't maintain their defensive stronghold in the second half.

The match saw the Eagles equalizing through Anna Sparks after Kate Bettner had put Hanover ahead. The goal was Sparks' team-leading third of the year, showcasing a brief glimmer of hope for Asbury, pulling things in at one apiece.

However, the Panthers soon regained control as Callen Johnson scored the game-winning goal, followed by a final strike from Cam Horsley, sealing the victory in favor of Hanover.

Eagles' goalie Maliya Crump was a key player throughout the match, faced with numerous challenging saves. Despite the loss, the Eagles showed resilience and tactical prowess.

The team will regroup and hit the road again to take on Georgetown College at 7 PM on Saturday.

With a current record of 3-2-1, the Eagles are looking to refine their strategies and secure a win in the upcoming match.
