Andrew Billington had a combined four hits but Asbury baseball (20-16) came up short in their first-ever matchup with Muskingum University (18-17) on Tuesday night in New Concord, Ohio, 8-6.
Asbury scored two in the second and two in the fourth but allowed a five-spot to the Muskees in the third they couldn't catch up to. The Eagles had eight hits and for the 13th time this season did not commit an error.
"Our defense was solid today and the bullpen did their job to keep us in the game. We'll be ready to go tomorrow against a good Muskingum team."
