Asbury Athletics Celebrates 28 Graduating Scholar-Athletes
WILMORE, Ky. --- Asbury Athletics celebrates 28 graduating Scholar-Athletes, a group committed to the mission of TeamAU to train in the classroom for the glory of God. To be eligible for this honor student-athletes must have maintained an overall GPA of 3.5 or higher during their undergraduate studies at Asbury University.
TeamAU graduating Scholar-Athletes were honored with an AU Scholar-Athlete lapel pin (located to the right) that they will have on during commencement services and will be able to keep. Asbury University Commencement Services will take place Saturday, April 27 in the Asbury Luce Center at 10 am (College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, Dayton School of Business) and 2:30 pm (School of Communication Arts, School of Education, Shaw School of Sciences).

"Our Scholar-Athletes embody what it means to be a "student-athlete." They have achieved academic excellence as a student while balancing that with the rigor of being a collegiate athlete", said Faculty Athletics Representative Dr. Emily Walsh. "This is no small feat, and our faculty celebrate this wonderful academic accomplishment with our Scholar-Athletes. We look forward to the impact they will each have as they go out from Asbury."
Alongside 27 Scholar-Athletes being announced, many student-athletes were highlighted on April 15th in the Academic Honors Convocation Chapel (pictured men's soccer youth ministries major Brenden Krebs) for their performances in the classroom. Student-athletes received recognition from their professors for their commitment and efforts put into academic studies during their time at AU.
Asbury Athletics is extremely grateful and proud of the way these student-athletes embody the TeamAU mission of serving, training, and competing for the glory of God. We thank God for their time on campus and pray for Him to lead them in whatever He has next for them!
