WILMORE, Ky.--- Freshman Abigail Moffat's four hits combined with Junior intercultural studies major Josie Deatherage's six strikeouts were not enough for AU softball (11-20) to defeat Transylvania (20-7) as the Eagles fell in Saturday's doubleheader, 6-2 and 13-3. 

Asbury put up 17 hits on the day against a strong opponent, led by Abigail Moffat with four and Emily Zink with three. AU grabbed two doubles, a triple, and a stolen base on the day. 
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

* Josie Deatherage pitched all seven innings in game one with six strikeouts
* Abigail Moffat went 4-7 on the day, with a run scored from a Taylor Enlow triple in game two
* Emily Zink recorded three hits on the day, with a power double in game one
* Taylor Enlow tallied two hits, with an RBI and a run scored
* Sidney Hansen pitched 5.0 innings in game two, only allowing one walk



Game One | ASBURY 2,  TRANSY 6
* After going scoreless in the first, both teams scored a run to tie things in the second
* Transy had a powerful third inning, scoring five runs to take a 6-1 lead
* AU found their last run in the third after Deatherage capitalized on a TU error to score
* Asbury left nine runners on base, while Deatherage left only seven TU runners on
* The Eagles committed zero errors compared to Transy's three

Game Two | ASBURY 3,  TRANSY 13
* Both teams started with scoring two runs each in the first to tie things up once again
* AU scored their first two off key hits from Enlow and Ison
* Transy slowly increased their lead, scoring three more runs in the next three innings
* Transy's two four-run innings at late game, gave them their advantage over AU
* The Eagles were able to add one more in the fifth after Ison scored from a pass ball
* The errors were flipped, as Asbury committed four and TU with zero


* The Eagles had zero errors in game one.
* Asbury left 19 runners on base in the doubleheader
* Josie Deatherage struck out six in her 14th complete game
* Abigail Moffat had four hits, two in each game


Asbury will travel to Frankfort, Ky. to take on Kentucky State for the second time this season, for a doubleheader at 5 and 7 pm on April 25th.
