FRANKFORT, Ky.--- Asbury softball (13-20) traveled to Frankfort, Ky., to take on Kentucky State on Thursday afternoon in a doubleheader to close out their season. After being swept last Tuesday to the Thorobreds at home, AU rallied back to avenge last week's losses winning 5-3 and 11-1.
Kaitlyn Wilson led the Eagles in game one at the plate, going 3-4, two runs scored, and one RBI.
Josie Deatherage finished her dominating season on the mound collecting her eighth win, with seven strikeouts, just six hits, and three runs. Deatherage's complete game marks her 16th of the season.
In game two it was all Eagles.
Taylor Enlow,
Kaitlyn Wilson,
Katelyn Bolin, and
Kaylee Korros all collected multi-hit games.
Sidney Hansen took the mound for the Eagles collecting her second win of the season. Hansen in five innings allowed no earned runs on just two hits, striking out four.
"The team played two of their best games yesterday. We made great plays on the field and hit top to bottom in the lineup. It was a great way to end the season and send off our senior, Taylor Enlow. The future of this program is bright!"

Josie Deatherage pitched all seven innings in game one with seven strikeouts, collecting her eighth win, she also recorded two base hits in game one

Game One | ASBURY 5, KSU 3
* Emma Popplewell collected an RBI in the first, walking in Kaitlyn Wilson for AU's first run
* A Kaitlyn Wilson single in the fourth scored Katelyn Bolin to extend the lead to 2-0
* RBI's from Taylor Enlow and Natalie Ison helped add insurance in the sixth giving Asbury a 5-1 lead
* Josie Deatherage and the Eagles held off a KSU rally in the seventh to hold on for a 5-3 win
Game Two | ASBURY 11, KSU 1
* A Taylor Enlow three-run HR and Samantha Bottom single got AU on the board early in the first, 4-0
* Kaitlyn Wilson and Taylor Enlow added RBI's in the third to make Asbury's lead 7-1
* Katelyn Bolin, Nartalie Ison, and Samantha Bottom helped added insurance in the fifth to give AU a ten-run lead
* Sidney Hansen shut the door on her complete game in the fifth, with two groundouts and a strikeout to give Asbury an 11-1 victory
* AU only committed two errors on the day
* Asbury collected 25 hits through both games
* The Eagles scored in the first inning of each game

Asbury will head into the offseason in preparation for the 2025 year. AU ends the season with a 13-20 record.
