Asbury Surges for 11-9 Win Over Trinity Christian; Dugle and Johnson Combine for Five RBIs


STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
WILMORE, Ky..--- MBA student Matthew Johnson and senior education major Kaden Dugle combined for five RBIs on Friday afternoon as Asbury baseball (11-11) scored 11 runs to take the win over Trinity Christian College (13-15) in Wilmore, Ky., at Cecil Zweifel Field, 11-9. 

AU scored 10 runs in the first three innings and were carried by senior captain Jackson Cole's five-inning start with one earned run and six strikeouts.

"We had some good weather on this good Friday up at the Z. Jackson shoved and gave us a chance to win on the mound as always and our offense did our part today as well. We're looking to extend this winning streak and get back above .500 against Wright State Lake tomorrow."

* Matthew Johnson went 3-5 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored
* Kaden Dugle had a two-run home run (15) over the left center wall and a double for two RBIs and two runs scored
* Jackson Cole went five innings for his third win of the year, striking out six with only one earned run
* Freshman Brady Robeson came on in the ninth inning to grab the final three outs with no runs allowed for his first career save
