LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.--- Asbury softball (3-3) traveled to Covenant College (1-7) on Saturday for a weekend contest against the Scots. The Eagles fell in game one 7-2, but quickly retaliated in game two, with freshman
Abigail Moffat recording an impressive two home runs to lead AU to a 5-1 win.
With
Josie Deatherage on the mound for game two, she recorded 10 strikeouts against the Scots, and only allowed one run.
The Eagles recorded 11 hits across their doubleheader, with two home runs and two doubles on the day. Asbury freshman accounted for six of their 11 hits on the day. Moffat finished the day going 4-7, with three hits in game two.
* Freshman Abigail Moffat went 4-7 on the day with two homers, four hits, three runs, and three RBIs
* Josie Deatherage pitched all of game two, collecting 10 Ks and only allowing one run
* Kaitlyn Wilson went 3-5 on the day, recording a hit in both games with a run and a stolen base on the day
* Taylor Enlow went 2-4 in game two with a double and three RBIs
* Emma Popplewell collected one hit and two walks on the day
Game One | ASBURY 2, COVENANT 7
* After being down 1-0, the Eagles scored two runs in the second, with help from Kaylee Korros and Abigail Moffat to bring home Natalie Ison and Emalie Zink
* The Scots retaliated in the fourth, scoring six runs to give them the 7-2 lead
* AU collected three hits and two RBIs across game one
* Taylor Enlow began on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings and collecting two Ks
Game Two | ASBURY 5, COVENANT 1
* Covenant got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead after one
* AU would go one to hold CC to their one run for the rest of the game
* The Eagles tied things up in the third with a solo homer from Abigail Moffat
* AU continued their drive in the fifth with another homer from Moffat and a double from Taylor Enlow to bring Wilson home, taking AU to 3-1
* Enlow singled up the middle in the sixth to bring home Moffat and Korros to extend AU's lead to 5-1
* Josie Deatherage was near perfect on the mound, collecting 10 Ks, and only allowing one run and two walks

Kaitlyn Wilson leads the team with four stolen bases
* Asbury totaled 11 hits through both games
* The Eagles drew 10 walks and struck out just six times
* AU pitching staff only gave up five walks on the day
Asbury will return home on Monday to face NCCAA opponent Oakland City at 1 and 3 pm.
