Dugle's Grand Slam Lifts Asbury Over New Jersey City at Legends Field; Morris Earns First Win


STORY - THE ESSENTIALS
LEXINGTON, Ky..--- Senior health and physical education major Kaden Dugle blasted a grand slam over the left field wall in the fifth inning on Tuesday night to lift Asbury baseball (7-5) over New Jersey City University (2-2) at the Lexington Legends Field.

AU had double-digit hits in the game for the fourth time this season, and was flawless on defense with no errors for the fourth time in 2024. Sophomore communications major Jack Morris took his first win of the year for AU, going 4.2 innings out of the bullpen with no runs and four strikeouts.

"The boys got back on track today with a big win to start off our spring break. The bats got rolling in the fifth and Jack Morris was key for us on the mound in the back-half of the game! It was a solid team win and we're excited to head down to Memphis to play some more baseball together this week."

STORY - TOP PERFORMERS
* Kaden Dugle had four RBIs off one swing, scoring a run and working a walk
* Jack Morris went 4.2 innings with no runs, four strikeouts, and only one hit allowed
* Andrew Billington, Jackson Cole, and Aaron Beaman all had two hits for AU. Cole walked twice with two runs scored and an RBI, Billington scored a run, and Beaman knocked in two runs with a run scored
* Quinn Nobles, Ryan Yates, and Matthew Johnson had hits as well
* Eli Wilder went 4.1 innings in his start with four earned runs
